Parental Involvement and Academic Performance of High School Students: A Correlational Study

چکیده

The main purpose of this study was to examine the correlation between parental involvement (PI) and academic performance (AP) among junior high school (JHS) students in selected schools Cebu. This employed a quantitative correlational design. There were thirty (30) JHS who participated research identified using simple random sampling method. Descriptive statistical tools, particularly mean standard deviation used describe level PI AP students. Consequently, Pearson product-moment coefficient test run assess Based on findings, it showed that there is very low negative two variables. Thus, no significant students, r = - .06, p .74. With these results, null hypothesis not rejected since p-value greater than significance level, > .05. Therefore, does affect Findings suggest educational staff administrators be able identify other factors influence Because scope restricted within perception towards PI, would better for future studies let parents involved, their side will taken into consideration; new variables inquiry – motivation self-competence students; conduct qualitative or mixed-method about topic.
